Travel Cuts is an interesting travel insurer that was started way back in 1969. They were established by a group of students with the aim to provide affordable ways to go overseas. They are owned and operated in Canada. To this day they have turned into a destination for unbiased, whole trip advice and expertise.
A very desirable thing is that the cost only starts at $1.33 a day, which is I think is affordable and would make great fit for younger people that are low on budget. Four choices are available for you to choose from that differ from features and claim limits. They are known as Comprehensive, Budget plan, Trip cancellation & interruption, and Emergency medical. One small downside to these policies is that in order to get a policy you must be under the age of 50.
I was somehow attracted to the comprehensive plan. It included a lot of popular and essential coverage which I thought would be very appropriate for travellers that want to be insured all the way they return home with the highest standard possible. The policy includes emergency medical, trip cancellation and interruption, baggage and personal effects, as well as a 24/7 personal accident coverage.
In the budget plan, there is one main thing that is not included. This was the baggage and personal effects. The disadvantage of this is that you won’t be able to claim for the common things like lost or broken items. The advantage though means you will be able to save money and still have your health insured, which I think should be the first priority.
The third plan is known as Trip Cancellation & Interruption Plan. This plan is solely to give you a protection when your trip is cancelled, interrupted or delayed due to things like natural disasters, terrorism and even problems with the airplanes. Based on experience, I think this plan is useful for people that have planned out their holiday so specifically that a little delay would mess up the entire journey and thus have to pay extra money to get have everything back on track.
The final plan is the emergency medical plan and offers coverage for health treatments. Coverage that you will get are emergency hospital treatment, doctor visits, dental care, air ambulance evacuation and many more. The great thing about this that I really loved is that the policy includes a number of adventure and sport activities that if you ever get injured while participating in it, you will be able to make a claim.
