CAA Insurance Review

CAA in an overview has got to be one of the longest standing insurers in Canada with a history of more than 100 years. They have been noted for many of their innovative products for Canada’s motoring and travelling needs. Their philosophy is to always be there for you.

Their auto insurance includes a range of car related financial products. Before going any further, the first thing that I could not take my eyes away is the fact that members can save up to 15% in their car insurance. For extra saving, customers can also take out multiple vehicle insurance.

The plans available to be taken out are known as Classic Car Insurance and Car Insurance. There are also several products that enable you to benefit you financial such as Forgive and Forget, Winter Tire Discount and Hybrid Vehicle Discount.

With just a glance, I felt that everything needed to ensure a car is protected were included in their policy, including things like liability coverage, accident benefits, uninsured automobile coverage, and even several optional extras.

Another common product offered by CAA is home insurance. It is very promising to see that they are able to insure all sort of homes, including both buildings and contents, as well as condominium and tenants. The other features that I felt are very important and that they also include are identity theft which only costs $25 a year, home equipment breakdown cover for only $29 a year, as well as free legal expense cover. At just a glance, everything they offered really satisfied me.

Two packages are available under their travel insurance that I really liked. The first falls under the category of travel medicine insurance, and offers a plan for single and those going on multiple trips annually. The second category is vacation package and as I can see, covers the most comprehensive things, again under two plans; single and multi-trip annual. I thought it was also overwhelming that visitors to Canada are also entitled for insurance where they will be able to claim up to $150,000 on emergency medical coverage.

Personal protection insurance is the next thing that CAA can offer. Included are things like health and dental insurance, life insurance and member accident protection plan. The one that I felt was very useful is the term life insurance because you have the choice to choose to get paid either $50,000 or $500,000. Savings can go up to 20%.

Other insurance that you can get from CAA includes:

  • Motorcycle insurance
  • RV/motorhome insurance
  • Boat insurance
  • Business insurance
  • Cottage insurance
  • Pet insurance

Federated Insurance Review

Federated is very different to your standard insurer. They have a name for being a leading specialized insurance provider that leading products that can be customized as well. A large number of products are listed in their portfolio including automobile, liability, as well as business insurances.

In their home and auto insurance, it is great to see that you will be able to get a peace of mind for your house, tenants, condo and a lot more. The one that I was very attracted to was their home insurance. This was because their policies are comprehensive, meaning you will be able to get the highest standards of cover, for even the worst case scenarios. Covered things include contents, liabilities, damages and many more.

Now concentrating on their car insurance, it is great to know private cars are not the only thing that can be insured. You can also have additional things like campers, utilities, travel trailers, motorcycles and even snowmobiles. According to what they can provide it can include coverage like damages done to people, damages done to third parties, and natural disasters like fires.

Lastly, I was very intrigued with their life and health products. Their life insurance blew me away because payouts are tax-free. This means you can be sure you will be able to use all the money you or your family to receive to plan for a better future.

The other products include:

  • Disability insurance – The advantage of this plan is that it will be able to continuously provide you with an income even when you are unable to work due to your condition. Again, the payout is tax-free, which is good to hear.
  • Critical illness insurance – This is similar to the above where you will be paid out certain a lump sum payment when you are diagnosed with a critical illness. The main advantage of this plan is so that you can concentrate on healing and have the money to pay for things like health care, mortgages and debts, and even education for your children.
  • Group benefits – The benefits for this is usually made for those in a company.

In order to take out a policy, you must need to go through a representative or a broker. There are many within Canada and can be easily be discovered on their website as well. I had a look at what people were saying about them online and was pretty pleased with what I read.

Green Shield Insurance Review

Green Shield is a creative and innovative solution for people that are looking to have access to better health. They offer a number of health insurance products for individuals and groups. Stated on their website is a message that they respond to customers with passion and commitment.

There are currently three health insurance plans to select from.

Prism Precision is the name of the first that provides basic health and dental coverage. The first great thing that I love about them is that there are no medical questionnaire to fill which means almost anyone will be able to apply. There are four levels known as P1, P2, P3 and P4. The highest one is P4 and offers the highest limits of claims such as up to $1,250 on dental, up to $300 on vision and many more. I thought it was also remarkable to see that optional benefits are also provided for you to get better protection like hospital accommodation. In the P4 plan you will be able to get up to $250 per day for 30 days per year.

Prism Spectra is the second plan. This plan focuses on providing a more comprehensive coverage with claim limits that are higher than the first. One of the things different from this plan is that a medical questionnaire is required.

I had a look at their benefits and discovered again that there are four plans, and the highest one is S4. Up to $10,000 can be claimed per year on prescription drugs which I thought is a lot, and up to $1,750 on dental. Other benefits include hearing aids, home support service and medical items. Looking at the optional benefit that was also present here, the S4 plan again lets you claim up to $250 per day.

Prism Continuum, the third and final plan, is a bit different from the others. It is designed for people leaving a company group health plan. The highlight of this cover that I really enjoyed are the comprehensive coverage on pre-existing conditions, and it also makes a good choice for getting coverage for your current health care expenses.

The highest level is C4 and offers up to $2,000 on prescription drugs. All the features were similar to the other plans, however it is interesting to see that hospital accommodation is no longer an option. This means everyone that takes out a cover will automatically be covered for hospital stay.

National Bank Insurance Review

National Bank General Insurance, also known as simply NBC, is an insurer that offers automobile and home insurance products direct to the residents in Quebec. According to their About Us page, National Bank takes thousands of calls each day and offers the callers great quotes for their home and auto insurance.

I think the thing that caught my eyes the most is the fact that they are able to tailor your policy. Not only that, I also found out that they can make sure the premium will be a competitive price.

The coverage included is pretty fascinating. There are several categories and they include protection against damages, civil liability, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles and there is even an option to get endorsement to complement your insurance for just a few more dollars.

One interesting thing is that National Bank also has a plan dedicated to only young drivers. It is made for drivers between the age of 16 and 24 and best of all you won’t need to wait until your 25th birthday to get a lower price. In fact, for all full time students, a 10% can be applied, which I thought is a great way to make premiums affordable to youngsters.

In terms of discounts, I actually discovered a list of ways you can get further discounts which I thought would surely make them very affordable to everyone. There are reductions in price for good driving record, taking out a policy for two years, having low mileage and many more.

The home insurance plan is available for tenants, condominium owners and homeowners. The available coverage that I found to be undeniable are insurance for properties, liabilities and even an endorsement that prevent unsuspected problems such as water damages.

For those looking for discounts, I am pleased to have also found a list where you are able to save with discounts for coming your auto and home insurance, as well as taking a 2-year policy.

Lastly, it seems to me that National Bank has extended their product portfolio to include life insurance as well. You are able to choose from life, disability or critical illness insurance, as well as travel insurance and health and medical care. I thought these products can really change a person’s life around and would be a great way to get a peace of mind.

For more information simply head over to National Bank Insurance’s website and see what they have to offer on your own.

Kanetix Insurance Review

Kanetix is one of the leading comparing websites in Canada since 1999 where users are able to compare over a range of financial products such as insurance, mortgages and credit cards. The most outstanding fact about them is that they have some of the biggest brands of finance companies in their panel of companies that you can compare from.

According to their claims, an average for $600 can be saved from comparing car insurance. I had a look at how this could be done and simply found out that all you need to do is enter your postal code to get a quote. Some of the brands where you will be able to get a quote from are RBS, COSECO, The Co-Operators, The Personal and Allstate.

The impressive thing is that many different cars can also be insured. It includes classic car, commercial auto, motorcycle and RV. Interesting enough, there is also an app that you can download onto your phone to compare quotes on the go, which I thought can really save time.

In their property insurance, again you need to enter your postal code. In terms of the insurers that will show up, I was very glad to recognize some of even the biggest names like Aviva and Grey Power. I thought it was very useful that you can insure both your home or contents, or even both of them combined. According to a testimonial found online, a customer was able to save approximately $700.

Moving onto travel insurance, again the panels of insurers were very dominant. The average saving one would receive is around 50% which you’ve got to admit is not bad. You are able to get a policy for single trips, multi trips, and even an all-inclusive travel insurance policy.

One really outstanding thing about Kanetix is that they offer comparison among many different types of travel insurance such as for those visiting Canada, and those heading over to the snow.

In their life insurance, there is something a bit different. In order to get a quote, you need to enter the coverage type and amount, as well as some personal information. It was also easy to do without much embarrassing questions except for if you are a smoker. You are then able to choose from the term of life insurance; term or permanent, as well as other types.

The other types of insurance that you are able to compare but not mentioned here are health insurance, pet insurance and commercial insurance.

Sun Life Insurance Review

Sun Life is an international service that deals in the area of finance and also has a base in Canada. Their commitment is to help customers around the globe to get a peace of mind when it comes to planning a security future in terms of finance. The insurances they offer revolve around health and life.

Under their health insurance, there are up to around six products available. I think the one most people would want to know more about is their personal health insurance. It comes under three plans known as Basic, Standard and Enhanced, which I think is a great way to let customers have total control on the types of benefits they would like to receive.

With just a quick summary, some of the reimbursements that you will be able to get for include prescription drugs, preventive dental, restorative dental, orthodontics, supplemental healthcare, vision, emergency travel, as well as many other optional benefits. What you can claim differs from different plans, but in my opinion the one I like the most is the Enhanced plan is because everything is included.

Another health related product that has been proven to be very popular is critical illness insurance. I really liked the two plans they offered known as SunSpectrum Basic Critical Illness Insurance, and Sun Critical Illness Insurance. My favorite one has got to be the latter one because it up to 25 illnesses can offer you a payout. Up to 4 can give you a partial payout, and up to 5 childhood illnesses can be covered for.

Having a look at the full payout illnesses, they included a lot of the common ones like cancer, coma, deafness, loss of limbs and many more. The only thing to note about this insurance is that to be able to be insured you must be at least 18 year old, but this is reasonable.

Dwelling in their life insurance, again, around six plans were offered, however some of them also fell under their health insurance category. Generally speaking, three life insurance exists; Term, Permanent and Universal Life. The one that impressed me the most is the Universal plan because it a typically a lifetime protection that. The advantage over tis plan is that it is a flexible way to combine long term life insurance with the opportunity for tax-deferred savings.

La Capitale Insurance Review

La Capitale, for more than 70 years, have been a company providing insurance and financial products to more than 600,000 members. There are over 900 institutions in the Quebec and parapublic sectors.

I was impressed to see that La Capitale has offers for individuals and business customers. In this review we will concentrate only on their individual products.

Automobile insurance was just one of the striking products. They included protection for cars , trucks, and even motorcycles. According to their website there are several reasons about them that I found hard to ignore. First of all, for every new policy taken out that goes for a period of two years, a saving of $75 will be offered, as well as having the premium to be guaranteed to stay the same even if you ever need to make a claim. This means you will be able to rest assured that your costs won’t go up even after your car has been damaged.

More importantly, there is free CAP roadside assistance for every new customer. I found this to be very beneficial as it automatically means you will be covered if you ever get stranded on the road as well. Additional discounts can be obtained under several criteria like driving a hybrid vehicle and if your car has been installed with a recognized theft-deterrent system.

I think home insurance would be the next plan to consider. There are products for specific homeowners, tenants, condo owners, season residence owners, and even stationary trailers. Again, the things that really stood out for their home insurance is that you are able to earn several discounts such as if you purchase the “Consider it Done” deal or if you decide to insure both your car and home.

The levels of coverage they have on offered are Standard, Basic Plus and Enhanced. But what I thought was interesting is that there is a persoanlized form where you can use to get the best coverage under an amount that is affordable.

Two plans exist under their travel insurance plans. They include Medical and Hospital, and Comprehensive. It is very worthwhile to see that there is a budget plan that puts all the concentration on medical coverage, and one for the more concerned travellers to have everything insured. Some of the things available to be included are transportation expenses, living expenses, baggage insurance and trip cancellations. All of these I found to be very important.

Other plans that La Capitale that can offer you a policy but are not included in this review are:

  • Life insurance
  • Health and disability insurance
  • Accident insurance
  • Credit protection (loan) insurance

Ingle Travel Insurance Review

Ingle is travel insurer that takes out the complication of purchasing a policy. The things that make Ingle stand out from the rest is that they have a knowledgeable customer support system as well as a dynamic website that is straightforward with information and resources.

This was very true when I landed onto their website. All the links were listed on the left with banners that introduced ways to provide immediate help. I was able to find information about all their products by clicking on the corresponding links.

Their main products are set into four products, fitted for people Canadians as well as people that are coming to Canada.

For travel insurance for Canadians, there are three policies to choose from. However the first thing to note is that the policies are underwritten by different companies such as RSA, Travel Underwriters and Manulife Financial. The good thing about them all is that they include up to $5,000,000 of maximum insured sum, which is a lot if you ask me. Most importantly, it is good to see that there is coverage for hospital, treatment of dental accidents, and depending on which plan you choose, you are also protected against trip cancellations. Visitors to Canada will also be insured under a number of plans. There are four to choose from, again offered by different insurers.

Snowbird travel insurance is a plan for those heading south this winter. It basically includes coverage that will benefit those in the snow the most, such as coverage for damaged or lost skiing equipment and more.

An interesting product is student insurance. This was designed for international students to provide medical coverage while they are in Canada. The very impressive thing that I saw is that up to $2,000,000 are offered as their lifetime maximum limit. Included are up to 60 days in hospital, diagnostic services, trauma counselling, emergency transportation, emergency relief of dental pain, accidental death and many more.

In terms of pre-existing medical conditions, it is overwhelming that Ingle does cover them, however this can also depending on the exclusions and stability requirements of your policy, when you take one out. As long as your conditions fit into the criteria, you will be able to have them protected. There are no advantages or disadvantages to this.

For more information make sure you head over to their website. They have a very extensive list of products that were not covered in this review.

TD Insurance Review

TD Insurance is part of TD Bank, which I am sure everyone in Canada would be aware of. They are one of the largest financial organizations in the country, offering a long list of products. It is also interesting to see that they have their own website that is dedicated to insurance to make it easier for customers.

Their products can simply be put into eight categories.

The first is auto insurance. The first thing that I found out is that depending what will fall under your car insurance policy will also depend on where you are living. But basically speaking, some of the things you will be able to get are overage for liability, damages, uninsured drivers as well as several more. A very important thing to note is that there are even additional things you can add to make your policy better, which I thought is a great way to give customers more control.

Other types of automobiles can also be insured like motorcycles and recreational vehicles.

Home insurance offers many options for all sort of owners. Some of the other products included tenant insurance, condo insurance, and even identity theft so that you can have your personal information in safe hands. However the thing that I really liked was their home insurance. One thing I realized is that the coverage will be tailored so that it will fit the unique needs of your home, which I thought can be used as an advantage. But generally speaking, you can expect to see benefits like coverage for accidents, damages, jewelleries, stolen items and many more.

Moving onto life insurance, two choices are available. they are term life insurance and accidental death insurance. The term life insurance has three policies that come in either terms of 10, 20 or lifetime, which is very interesting since the plan is known as term. Looking at the term of 10 years, you will be able to get coverage of up to $5,000,000 which sounds very promising. There is also the possibility to convert to a permanent, which I thought is also something that is good to hear.

In their health insurance products, there are three to choose from. Critical illness insurance, critical accident insurance and accident and sickness hospitalization. They are pretty much straightforward according to their names. You will be able to get benefits if you ever need to go to a hospital or if you suddenly become ill and can’t work.

The other products offered by TD Insurance include travel insurance, credit protection insurance and business insurance.

Great West Life Insurance Review

Great West Life is an insurer that has been proclaimed to help Canadians reach their security needs in terms of finance. Their history goes back more than 100 years with a range of products in their portfolio including investment, retirement savings, and insurance.

Seeing their list of individual products, it came to terms with me that their products rested in the grounds of life covers. There was only four different plans to choose from which I thought was an adequate amount.

Life insurance being the first one, there are four different options. The first two are the usual term life insurance and permanent life insurance. But what caught my attention is the fact that there are two more in the selections, some that were quite uncommon including participating life insurance and universal life insurance.

I discovered the participating life insurance is also known as whole life insurance and enables you to permanently have your life protection in place to make sure you get a peace of mind. The universal life insurance is the traditional life insurance with a tax-advantaged investment aspect. This means you can select an investment mix.

Disability insurance was also quite similar. There are several products to choose form including insurance for professionals, business owners, employees, business owners, employees as well as a low cost option for people that are seasonal workers or those that works at home.

In the critical illness option, coverage can be obtained for different life stages. The one thing that opened my eyes is the that there are plans for adults as well as children. In the adult cover, up to $1,000,000 can be covered which I thought is an astonishing amount. There is also the choice to either choose a coverage that is level or decreasing. Another important thing to see is that this plan includes all the common illnesses like heart attack, cancer and stroke.

Lastly, the four is health and dental insurance, which can be used to claim on a number of treatment. As I can see, this is a great way for Canadians to have their health in great care while paying less of the expenses. The solutions that can be taken out includes plans for individuals, families, as well as people that are aged 50 above and people that have retired.

To see more about Great West Life Insurance and view their products under both personal and business categories, make sure you have a look at their website.
